Free Dance Party Clip Art
From LoveToKnow Dance
When you're trying to make some flashy invitations for your web invite to friends, using some free dance party clip art might be the key to making your event look like the place to be.
Using the Social Aspects of the Web
As the Internet becomes more and more prevalent in social circles, the old-fashioned "hard copy" invitations have become quaint and even a bit retro. Why try handing out a few dozen paper invites when you're throwing a party that you want hundreds of people to attend? With an Internet-based invite, you make it easy for friends to tell each other about the party, share the link to your invitations, and even RSVP so you can keep tabs on how many people are coming.
However, if your web invite is just some text reading "Come to my dance party!", it's not going to be very inspiring. Without having to spend too much – or really any – money (save that for the party!) you can still find some fantastic dance pics online that will capture the eyes and imagination of party goers.
Free Dance Party Clip Art Tips
First, think about what kind of pictures you are going to need. It won't do you much good to find a fantastic free clip art pic of a tango dancer if you're throwing a rave, right? So make a list of what you want your pictures to inspire, such as:
- rave dance
- urban dance
- DJ, jungle groove, house beats
- Style
- Party
Congratulations! You've just created your list of search terms in your quest for free dance party clip art!
Don't Steal. It's Uncool
You might be tempted to go to Google and type in those terms, and then just select the images option and start right-clicking and saving any image that catches your fancy. There is one big problem with this: It's stealing, and it's illegal.
By adding one or two more search terms to your list, though, you can come up with a lot of suitable candidates for your party invitations. Those are creative commons and royalty free.
Royalty Free
Royalty-free images are given by photographers and artists to the public domain to be used in whatever way you like. You don't have to give the creators credit, or money, or ask for permission. You can use it for commercial purposes, even. However, keep in mind that these are probably not going to be the best images in the world – and also, they are probably used in many other events and products, so you're losing a bit of individuality for your dance party.
Creative Commons
Some artistic types want to give out their best work – but they also want a little more control over how it is displayed. They will release their pictures under a "creative commons" license, which lets them choose things like "non-commercial use only" or "attribution" (giving them credit on your web invite). Flickr is a photo website that has thousands of images released under CC – the Creative Commons site has even more sources.
Just Plain Free
There are also many sites that just feature low-quality clip art (the kind that comes with many popular word processing programs) on the web, embedded among many advertisements. While these are easy to get and easy to find, they tend to be the lowest quality, and they really won't give your dance party invitation a very appealing look. Rather, it will tend to make it look like the invite was just thrown together – and therefore the music and party might be, too.
Use Social Media Tools
There are many services such as Google Calendar that have "invitation" capability, but the most popular and safest is eVite. Aside from being very technologically flexible, it has many themes and clip art built right into the web service to choose from. It is probably the easiest way to get good-quality clip art, matching themes, and even clever text for your dance party invitation.
